All My Children Episodes

All My Children' aired its TV finale episode today, (and ended with a shocking cliffhanger) before the beloved soap moves online in 2012. With Susan Lucci guest-hosting, 'The View' (weekdays, syndicated on ABC) bid 'AMC' an emotional farewell.

In a montage that featured backstage footage of the cast and the behind-the-scenes players who made the show possible, 'AMC' producer Julie Hanan Carruthers set the tone. "This isn't a job for those of us who do it ... it's a life choice. It consumes your life in everything you do. So to do it, you have to love it, or you can't do it well," she said.

Series creator Agnes Nixon then read the show's credo as a toast to the entire cast: "The great and the least, for rich and for poor, in tragedy and triumph, you are 'All My Children.'"

Later, Lucci choked up when thanking 'The View' for airing the special tribute. "It's a very happy time, so much to be grateful for," she said, fighting back tears. Lucci and the panel then looked back at some of the soap's most memorable scenes.

Alan Carr: Chatty Man Episode 2

In the second show of the series, presenter Dermot O'Leary joins Alan Carr to talk about all things X Factor and reveal the second compilation album from his Radio 2 show.
Comedy actor and author David Walliams drops by to chat about his latest children's novel, Gangsta Granny, and Westlife give Alan their first studio interview since announcing their split after 14 years together.
US singer/songwriter Mary J Blige tells Alan about the latest single from her tenth studio album. Plus The Saturdays perform their new single, My Heart Takes Over.

Adventure Time Episodes

Adventure Time with Finn and Jake is a surreal adventure animated TV series created by Pendleton Ward that focuses on the bizarre quests of best friends, Finn and Jake, in the land of Ooo. Finn is a twelve-year-old boy who has dreams of becoming a hero some day, something that he trains form by defeating evil forces and becoming skill in combat. He is a bit strange as he wears a self-proclaimed awesome hat but he has a thirst for adventures and helping others. Jake is a shape-shifting twenty eight year old dog that has somehow gained magical powers. Thankfully, Jake acts as the guide to Finn's energy. The unusual duo, sometimes with the occasional help of Princess Bubblegum, a bubblegum-human hybrid and ruler of the Candy Kingdom, set out in the land of Ooo to keep the Ice King from kidnapping princesses and Marceline the Vampire Queen from destroying their tree house. Adventure Time with Finn and Jake is based on an animated short that once aired as part of Frederator Studios' Random! Cartoons.

Ace Of Cake Episodes

Ace of Cakes is a reality series that follows a group of eclectic cake decorators in Baltimore, Maryland, led by Food Network Challenge star Duff Goldman. With an attitude and personality more suited for rock stardom than running a specialty cakes business, Duff shuns the traditional approach to cake making and decorating. With the help of power tools and his artistic staff, Duff creates some of the most amazing cakes ever seen. From abstract wedding cakes to a cake shaped as a Jeep so detailed it looks like it could actually run, these cakes are more than delicious--they're works of art.

Buddy also decides who the baby's godparents are, but there's one problem -- they're all "overqualified". The guys at the bakery also make a special cake for Buddy, as a salute to a fourth round of fatherhood after the child's birth. Among all the celebrations, Buddy takes a moment to reflect on the life of his most-valuable employee, Sal, who died two weeks earlier. (This is not actually listed as in episode, but only as a special!)

Later, Buddy makes a special cake for the Kennedy Space Center in celebration of the 30th anniversary of the Space Shuttle program; however, in its request, they would like to see the cake "lift off" -- literally. Then, Buddy also requests each of its bakers to make a cake that would be included in the bakery's new online catalog -- the only trouble is deciding which one would make the cut. Also, Sunshine, the bakery's best cake artist, announced that she will soon resign from the bakery to pursue a nursing career. 15 70 "Headphones, Helicopters & Handcuffed" June 13, 2011[7]
As the bakery gets closer to opening its new factory, Buddy and Joey had been training cousin Anthony to be an apprentice baker, and even though Anthony is family, he makes a lot of mistakes and he fears that Anthony, who's about to turn 21, won't make the cut as a new baker. For Anthony's birthday, Buddy makes a cake of a DJ's "coffin" -- a box that holds all the DJ's equipment, but Buddy has a couple of extra surprises for him. Also: a medevac service hires Buddy to make a cake of its helicopter for its fifth anniversary, which they want delivered by helicopter; however, Buddy goes the extra mile and attempts to make the helicopter on the cake fly as well.

This week on BBC Comedy...

Welcome to our weekly round of the week that was on BBC Comedy...

The Rapture may not have happened... but here's four signs of the forthcoming apocalypse in one all-singing, all-dancing sketch.

If the Glasgow heat teaches us anything, it's that the future of UK comedy is going to be really rather hirsute. So much facial hair.

Turn off those taps, turn off those lights, turn down those sheets. If we're not careful, this is the shape of things to come. And oh boy, what a shape....

Jo Brand and the staff of King Edward VIIIth hospital are back for a third series of the Getting On, the Bafta-winning bedpan-com.

Chris "Summer Heights High" Lilley is back with new series Angry Boys. We were kind of hoping it would involve throwing boys at structures created by spherical green pigs, but apparently we were mistaken.

It's the frickin' summer already. How did that happen? Anyway, to celebrate, here's a seasonal Family Guy Christmas song.

A clutch (yes, a clutch) of Two Pints outtakes to gently guide you into the weekend... "clutch."

How exactly did filmdirectorlegendman John Landis end up in Psychoville?

Getting On Series 3

Yet more good news for  fans of Getting On following last night's Bafta win...

Getting On, the award-winning, critically-acclaimed BBC Four comedy series has been recommissioned for a third series.

Last night, Jo Brand (who co-writes and stars in the sitcom) won the Bafta award for Best Female Performance in a Comedy Role.

The series is produced by Vera Productions and directed by Peter Capaldi.

Getting On offers a bittersweet look inside a female medical ward at King Edward VIIIth hospital, a backwater within a backwater, of the health service.

Producer Geoff Atkinson says "it’s great to see Getting On getting the recognition it deserves. BBC FOUR provides a unique home for shows like this and hopefully the hat trick of awards (Writers Guild, RTS and BAFTA) repay some of the debt we owe them".

Cheryl Taylor (Controller of Comedy Commissioning at the BBC) said: "We are thrilled that both the superb comedy performances and wonderful writing of Getting On have recently been recognised by both Bafta and the RTS. Fans will be delighted to hear that the show has been recommissioned for BBC Four."

The series follows on from other hugely successful BBC Four comedies including The Thick of It and Lead Balloon. BBC Four won four Baftas last night, including The Killing (International), The Road To Coronation Street (single drama), Zimbabwe's Forgotten Children (current affairs).

If you can't wait until the new series, check out our Getting On clip collection.

Episode Series Ideal Series 7

In tonight's opening episode of the new series of IDEAL, Moz (Johnny Vegas) will not only be rubbing shoulders with his usual circle of reprobates - Psycho Paul, Cartoon Head and so on - but also Strictly Come Dancing winner Kara Tointon and, perhaps even more surprisingly, the Modfather himself: Paul Weller. Both of whom bring their own unique brand of magic to the show.

And I'm proud to say they are in very good company. Over the years IDEAL has amassed a pretty impressive role call of special guests, including Sean Lock, Janeane Garofalo, Julia Davis, Jason Manford, Alan Yentob, Graham Fellows, Mark Radcliffe and my personal favorite: Mark E. Smith of The Fall playing Jesus H. Christ.

People frequently ask me how we manage to get such amazing guest stars on the show. The short answer is, if you don't ask, you don't get. Admittedly there's been a handful of occasions when we've approached a guest and they've turned us down. But often it's been due to availability rather than a lack of interest. Of course it helps if the person in question is already a fan of the show. Or better yet, if you have incriminating photos of them.

But even when they say "yes" there's still an element of risk involved. Whereas with seasoned comedians or actors like Sean Lock or Kara Tointon you know you're assured of a solid performance, with non-actors you can never be certain of what you're going to get. When I told people Mr. Weller was going to be filming a scene for the show, the general assumption was that he would probably turn up, behave like a sulky diva and deliver a performance as wooden as his guitar. Yet nothing could be further from the truth. He was friendly, down to earth and turned in a cameo which I hope you'll agree is subtle, naturalistic and very funny. In fact, I've almost begun to wonder if he might be interested in his own potential spin off series...
