All My Children Episodes

All My Children' aired its TV finale episode today, (and ended with a shocking cliffhanger) before the beloved soap moves online in 2012. With Susan Lucci guest-hosting, 'The View' (weekdays, syndicated on ABC) bid 'AMC' an emotional farewell.

In a montage that featured backstage footage of the cast and the behind-the-scenes players who made the show possible, 'AMC' producer Julie Hanan Carruthers set the tone. "This isn't a job for those of us who do it ... it's a life choice. It consumes your life in everything you do. So to do it, you have to love it, or you can't do it well," she said.

Series creator Agnes Nixon then read the show's credo as a toast to the entire cast: "The great and the least, for rich and for poor, in tragedy and triumph, you are 'All My Children.'"

Later, Lucci choked up when thanking 'The View' for airing the special tribute. "It's a very happy time, so much to be grateful for," she said, fighting back tears. Lucci and the panel then looked back at some of the soap's most memorable scenes.
